1. Background
a.Who is the author?
The title of this paper is COMMUNICATIVE ACTIVITIES: ISSUES ON PRE, DURING, AND POST CHALLENGES IN SOUTH KOREA'S ENGLISH EDUCATION by Dr. Ian Done D. Ramos as the author. Dr. Ian Done D. Ramos is The Graduate School of the Department of English Language and Literature, The University of Suwon.
b. Who is the audience?
Dr. Ian presented this research to be read by students in Korea who have a language potentials on "pre," "during," and "post" communicative activities. This paper's aim is to know their strengths and weaknesses in the communication in English.
2.Purpose
a.What is the author’s main argument?
The main arguments of the author is how to develop the communication skill of students in Korea. There 3 ways how to develop communication skilk of students in Korea:
1. Conversation Theory and Communicative Competence
Conversation practice is the best way to develop communicative competence. Students should have conversation in English with other to improve their English speaking skill. Students also must to knowing how to use language for a range of different purposes and functions, and knowing when to use formal and informal language in their daily conversation.
2. Construct of Communicative Activities
Communicative competence cannot be fully developed when its activities and learners' right attitude are not performed objectively. Communicative activities may refer to the spontaneous interaction between teachers and students or among students themselves.
3. Willingness to Communicate (WTC)
Students willing to communicate when they are discussion with other student and when the teacher ask them to read the content of textbook or vocabulary or any answer questions in the textbook.
b. List and explain the author reasons for his/her main argument
1. The students were not emotionally- and intellectually- prepared for the entire activity.
The students had been oriented with the types of communicative activity with their respective constructs before the activities were implemented, as manifested in the workbook and teacher's instructions, but still most of them could not cope with the preparatory undertakings.
2. The students' interest and willingness to communicate.
The students lacked exposure to conversations. Middle school and high school English classes trained them with passive learning methods such as memorization of words, mastery of grammar points, and mere listening to teachers; thus, in an activity, the students with no confidence could not carry out their previous learning in actual practical conversation drills.
3. Students' retention span and comfort zone in the classroom were very limited.
They were not able to reflect or meditate the impact of the whole activity; only few were able to manage to see the importance of interactive participation.
4. The students had endurance and patience in a classroom due to extrinsic factors, like attendance. Some of them tended to become participative in communicative activities, only when they were not conscious of grammar and when they knew they could talk a lot freely about any interesting topics.
3. The reader’s point of view
Points of view that reader can get from this journal "COMMUNICATIVE ACTIVITIES: ISSUES ON PRE, DURING, AND POST CHALLENGES IN SOUTH KOREA'S ENGLISH EDUCATION" by Dr. Ian Done D. Ramos is about student's strengths and weaknesses in the communicative challenges were investigated; particularly, their weaknesses in the three stages were determined in terms of rank, of difficulty and frequency of attitude toward the activities.Students' learning styles, strategies, and attitudes were also affected due to the difficulties of communicative challenges and lack of support system. There are 3 ways to develop student's communication skill in english: Conversation Theory and Communicative Competence, Construct of Communicative Activities, and Willingness to Communicate (WTC).

Advantages and disadvantages read article using English and Indonesian language
Hello people! 🙋
Welcome back to my blog. Today i'll share about what are advantages and disadvantages of reading article using English and Indonesian language. Here they are!
A. Using Indonesian Language
- Advantages:
1. Easier to understand.
Because we use Indonesian language in our daily conversation, so that when we read article with using Indonesian language, we easier to understand.
2. The intensity of the reading time so much faster.
- Disadvantages
1. We can't increase our new English vocabulary.
2. We can't improve our reading skill in English.
B. Using English
- Advantages
1. We can increase our new English vocabulary.
If we dilligently read the English article, that article gives us many new English vocabulary. And when we know a lot of English vocabulary, we can easier do communication with the stranger.
2. We can make better sentence structure.
When we want to write something in English, so that we can make better sentence structure. It's because we accustomed read English article and then we understand how to arrange better sentence structure.
3. We can improve our reading skill in English.
It's because we accustomed read English article, so that our ability of reading skill in English become increasingly.
- Disadvantages
1. Harder to understand.
We don't use English in our daily conversation, so that we harder to understand when we read English article.
2. The intensity of reading time so much slower.
It's because when we find new vocabulary, we must to find the meaning in dictionary first.

Some points of international article
Hello, i'm back!! 🙋
In previous post, i analized the sections of international article. The title is still same: Improving listening and speaking skills in mixed level groups (on the material of New English File) by Mapruza Idrissova, Batagoz Smagulova, Madina Tussupbekova.And now i'm going to tell you some points of this International Article. Here we go!
1. Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate the problems of listening and speaking in learning foreign language.
2. The introduction
The authors made new research.
3. Methods
The methods of this research is used questionnaire.
4. Result
There are 5 questions and each question has 4 options.
5. Discussion
Used role plays for students.
6. Conclusion

Sections in international article
I want to share the sections in International Article which ia written by Mapruza Idrissova, Batagoz Smagulova, and Madina Tussupbekova.
1. The title
This international article has title "Improving listening and speaking skills in mixed level groups (on the material of New English File)".
2. The abstract
The author has done a good abstract. The author state that they want to investigate works of scholars about the problems of listening and speaking in learning foreign languages. The author also try to analyze the difficulties in doing listening and speaking exercises in mixed level groups focusing on “New English File” (Intermediate) textbook.
3. The introduction
In the introduction, the author explain that the students in mixed level groups in Republic of Kazakhstan have difficulties in pronouncing words, understanding the meaning of the words, phrases, using the linking words, grammatical structure, expressing their ideas, thoughts, sharing their opinions in English, and analyzing the problems.
4. Method
In the method, the author's study was based on the collection and search of the theoretical and practical materials. The subjects of the study are 20 first-year students from different groups, they were randomly chosen. They range from 16-18 years of age. Of the 20 students, 8 students finished schools in villages. The duration of English classes at school was different. Some have learnt English for 4 years; some of them have learnt English for 3 years.
5. Results
In this research, author prepared a questionnaire for students of mixed level groups. There are question to identify what places students lived and finished schools before entering the university, question to identify the duration of learning English, question about positive attitude of students to listening and speaking skills, and question about difficulties that the student's have.
6. Discussion
The solutions for these difficulties is do role play. Role-plays help students work together as a team or a group, and communicate in order to understand each other. Rope play can improve students speaking skills in any situation. We start to listen to short dialogues from "New English File" textbook. After listening to short dialogues, students do exercise for comprehension. These tasks helped students to improving listening and speaking skills.
7. Conclusion
In this conclusion, this study is believed to be useful for working in heterogeneous groups. It is hoped that the teachers of English can benefit from this study new ideas and fruitful suggestions to improve listening and speaking skills. Further studies will be carried out in order to get more convincing results.

How do i find the research article and What the diffulties when i found the international article
To be honest, i absolutely didn't have any difficulties when i found the international article. Because the task is find international article and the topic is be based on what skill do i interested the most. The topic is not specified in detail so i can easily find it. And finally i found the international article about listening and speaking skills with title "Improving listening and speaking skills in mixed level groups (on the material of New English File)" by Mapruza Idrissova , Batagoz Smagulova, and Madina Tussupbekova. I found this article from sciencedirect.com. How can i find this article? First, i search on many website that contain international journal and artcile. I know those website from my lecturers. But i can't found suitable articles, because the article must describe about someone's or somebody's research. And then i try to find it on scincedirect.com, finally i found the article that i want.

What i can find in article international's abstract
Hello everybody! Last week i uploaded about review the article internatinal with title: Improving listening and speaking skills in mixed level groups (on the material of New English File) by Mapruza Idrissova, Batagoz Smagulova, and Madina Tussupbekova. And now, i will share what i can get from the abstract of this article. So lets start!
From this abstract, i can find the writers' purpose of their study. Their purpose is to investigate works of scholars about the problems of listening and speaking in learning Foreign Languages. And the writers try to analyze the difficulties in doing listening and speaking exercises in mixed level groups. Of course these difficulties help the writers to find the ways of improving students' abilities to listen and speaking english. The writers also try to find the different creative activities in english classes motivate students to learn Foreign Languages.

Review an International Article
Improving listening and speaking skills in mixed level groups (on the material of New English File) by Mapruza Idrissova, Batagoz Smagulova, and Madina Tussupbekova
In this article, the writer trying to say about speaking and listening English difficulties of students in mixed level groups in Republic of Kazakhstan. The author also trying to say about what are the reasons this problem can happen? As we know, speaking and listening are interrelated and most important for communication. If the students hard to speaking and listening English as a foreign language in their school, so how are they communication with the other? In this article, of course the author try to find a way for improving speaking and listening English.
The students in mixed level groups in Republic of Kazakhstan have difficulties in speed of delivery during listening and speaking, face problems with misunderstanding of new word and phrases, have problems in pronounciation of English word, and have difficulties in composing sentences using correct grammatical structure. It's because of differencies about what places students lives and finished schools before entering the university, duration of learning english and about skills do they like more.
